Monday, January 12 delivered everything the Sawatzky Cup has come to stand for — great tennis, great people, and an even greater cause.

Sawatzky Cup VI was an outstanding day on court, bringing together competitive spirit, community, and generosity in support of Rare Voices Australia. From the first serve to the post-tournament bar celebrations, the atmosphere was electric — proof that a tennis tournament can be seriously competitive and genuinely fun at the same time.

A Community Effort with Real Impact

Thanks to the incredible support of players, sponsors, partners, and donors — including Maxum Watches, — the fundraising total has now surpassed $9,500, with the donation page remaining live until the presentation of the engraved trophy to the champion teams.

Every rally, every match, and every moment of camaraderie helped support Rare Voices Australia and the vital work they do for people living with rare diseases. The Sawatzky Cup is named in honour of the much-loved Ross Sawatzky, a tennis stalwart who passed away in 2020 at just 48 from a rare autoimmune disease. Funds raised through the Sawatzky Cup Charity Tennis Tournament directly support Rare Voices Australia and their ongoing work.
